Borough President Eric Adams has recommended that changes be made within city agencies after a man was shot and killed by an NYPD officer Thursday night.

Police say 28-year-old Akai Gurley was accidentally shot in the chest in a dimly lit stairwell of the Pink Houses by rookie Officer Peter Liang. Gurley was later pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.
