Cold 187um: Suge Was Jealous Of Dr.Dre's Aftermath Success

Cold 187um says he was the active vice president of Death Row Records during one of Suge Knight's jail stints. He wasn't thrilled about visiting Suge in prison and having to manage several artists at the same time, but he says he wanted to help revive the label after the death of Tupac Shakur and the exits of Snoop Dogg, Kurupt and Daz Dillinger. Cold 187um helped bring in artists like the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes and Kxng Crooked, formerly known as Crooked I. He says he and Suge have cordial relationship to this day, but some of his past antics made him question his move to Death Row. Shortly after his release from prison, Cold 187um says Suge wasn't happy to see the success of Dr. Dre's Aftermath records. "He wanted to get some get back and I really wasn't with that," he said. "When Dre was at the height of Aftermath, he was just really so focused on 'f*** him.'" Cold187um says he didn't care about Dre's movements at Aftermath because he was focused on Death Row. He was able to leave the label shortly after it was back in Suge's hands. Calling it a humbling moment, Cold 187um says when he was indicted during the label's bankruptcy, he was able to make an easy exit from the label.
