Bobby Shmurda May Be Released From Jail Tomorrow
Bobby Shmurda may be released from jail as early as Thursday (Dec. 3). According to TMZ, the Brooklyn rhymer’s family has enough collateral to give bondsman Ira Judelson for the rapper’s $2 million bail. A source from Shmurda’s camp says that his family has put together a 200 page document that details the source of the bond payment. XXL has reached out to Shmurda’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, for comment. The Epic Records MC lost a bail hearing in October. His next trial is set for Feb. 22
Just as his career was on the rise following the release of “Hot N—a,” Bobby Shmurda, real name Ackquille Pollard, was arrested last December at Quad Studios in New York City. The MC was charged with conspiracy to commit murder, amongst other weapons and drug-related charges. Since his arrest, and that of other GS9 members, the young spitta has been behind bars. According to Pollard, a judge wanted to raise it to as much as $2.5 million.
While in jail, the 21-year old ran into additional legal problems. He was accused of having his girlfriend smuggle a knife into the prison and then lying about it in front of a grand jury. Epic boss L.A. Reid explained why the record company hasn’t paid Shmurda’s bail. We spoke to Bobby not too long ago and he discusses that he managed to keep his head up because of the support of fans and family.
